Introducing your hosts

Originally from a bit further north Jan Marris first laid his eyes on the hotel in 2007 and was shocked to see such an iconic building closed and in a depressingly poor state.

The next visit really made an impact and his ability to see past the condition of the building and envisage a fully restored character hotel was born. Through passion for the building and support from a tight-knit community they have created an architectural experience that everyone should see.

A lot of time and money has been invested so everyone else can enjoy a true icon. True commitment like this is incredibly rare but when you are inside the hotel and can see the results of the hard work, you see there is something special about the Masonic that your normal hotel struggles to offer.

A true landmark of South Canterbury

It is not hard to miss the Masonic Hotel on the main street of St Andrews but for those you have not been there here is a map to bring you right to the door!
